My Journey from Fickle Fancy to Virtual Virtuoso

Embracing Diversity and Curiosity: My Journey from Childhood Hobbies to Virtual Entrepreneurship

I am a storm of excitement - often too untamed. My childhood was a carousel of experiences - art school, karate, fencing, swimming, ballet, music, pottery; you name it, and I likely tried it before I turned 14.

Growing older didn't simplify things. On the contrary, the world became a buffet of opportunities. My curiosities ranged from Psychology and Accounting to Barbering and Photography.

At 26, I was a bubbling volcano of ideas, flooded with new domains, small business schemes, and the insatiable urge to learn more, and grow more.

Fast forward to the present - I'm 40 and counting. My memory can't keep up with the multitude of courses I've taken, the skills I've honed, and the myriad jobs I've juggled. With over 50 registered domains and a mind bursting with business concepts, I often joke that if ideas were currency, I'd be a millionaire by now.

But each brilliant idea also reminds me of the bittersweet truth - time is a scarce commodity, and I can only execute a fraction of these grand plans - which causes anxiety and slams the brakes on current projects.

That, dear friends, is today's confession.

My reservoir of patience runs deep, especially when it comes to my kiddos and life's many curveballs. I embody tolerance and understanding like a second skin. However, when the project's progress doesn't match my pace, my excitement ebbs, and I'm easily distracted by the next shiny opportunity. My readiness to embrace change and let go might seem impulsive, but it's just part of who I am.

Now, I must admit, this trait has its perks. My endless curiosity led me to the exciting realms of the virtual world and working online (an avenue that sparked even more ideas, if you can believe it!). My broad spectrum of interests enables me to engage in diverse conversations, from Iceland, Paris, London, and Romania traveling stories and the automotive business to the theatre, antique books, behind-the-scenes of insta-bloggers, Facebook ads puzzles, hiking, winter fishing, and even skydiving.

Life, like art, is filled with countless shades and tones (artistic perspective, remember?). It's never just black and white. So, while I wrestle with the daily challenge of sticking to one path or continuing my characteristic hop-skip-jump, I also ponder - how can I monetize this thirst for diversity?

Regardless, here's to celebrating our unique quirks, embracing our countless shades, and turning every challenge into an opportunity for growth.

Have a fabulous rest of the week, and I’ll see you on almost all social media platforms tomorrow. 😃

always a click away,

Kat.

Remote Jobs - I’m adding Canadian Opportunities!

Once again, a gentle reminder that the jobs I post here are great if you are starting out or thinking of switching to remote and not sure where to start.

I started at $18/hr back in 2014, although just before becoming remote, I was making 90K/year. As a friend of mine says, “I’m not Her Majesty - I can do this” This saying helps me a lot in many different ways, especially when the “crown” starts to limit me from changing my life 🙂.
