How to use iPhone Notes to Find Your Dream Job & Training Your ChatGPT to Write in Your Voice.

Current Remote Work Opportunities, ChatGPT Prompts to Train your Blog writer and more

Welcome! At last, something valuable lands in your inbox.

The first on the list are #ChatGPTprompts.

There's substantial buzz around ChatGPT, and although it seems like everyone understands it, I've noticed many people are still confused about what it exactly is and when AI is going to take over the world.

Spoiler alert: it won't.

Instead, it will evolve into something else.

Remember Instagram in its early days? People posted photos, experimented with built-in filters, and took delight in sharing slices of their life for no specific reason, overthinking captions.

Nowadays, ordinary users with back-in-a-day photos maintain private accounts for sharing their life updates with their loved ones.

Meanwhile, others have mastered the art of posing, hashtagging, and every trick in the book to emerge as social media savants.

In the same vein, ChatGPT is already morphing into something different; plug-ins, apps, etc. However, I work with ChatGPT4 and 3.5 more than with anything else. I use each model for different reasons.

chatGPT Prompts Let’s begin prompting.

Here's the initial prompt I use when I start a writing session with either version:

PROMPT: "I'm providing you with text. Please learn my tone and writing style."

If I return to a chat I was previously working in, I use the following:

PROMPT: "Describe Kat's tone and writing style, please."

If I'm content with the response, I leave it be. If there's a memory issue, I feed a sample of my writing again using the first prompt to reiterate my style.

Then, I ask the model to label the tone it has learned from the text sample:

PROMPT: "Let's call it 'Kat's tone and style.'"

Once ChatGPT confirms it has understood my style, I instruct it to draft a blog post in "Kat's tone and writing style," specifying the key points, examples, emphases, narrative direction, and conclusion. Here's a sample prompt:

PROMPT: {Write a blog post on [Topic].

Start with opening questions about [topic], to make readers think about [topic]

Please include the following pain points/examples/subtopics:

First example

Second example

Third example

Emphasize the [topic].

Instructions:

- Make the post easy to read

- Use shorter sentences

- Incorporate appropriate SEO keywords

- Include hashtags at the end of the post

Tone to use: Kat's tone and writing style

[TEXT SAMPLE:]

}

If you believe that's all there is to it, you're in for a surprise!

I wish it were that simple.

I use ChatGPT as an assistant rather than I know it all higher power.

I review the copy and remove words I don't typically use, modify sentences to mirror my own phrasing, and rearrange the content into distinct paragraphs to make it resemble a dialogue, which is a key aspect of my writing style.

Only after these adjustments does the piece become something I can use.

REMOTE JOBS

Please let me share my little tale about how I searched for my first remote job.

I didn’t!

It was a fortunate accident, brimming with serendipity.

Kids and I had just relocated to New York City, and with the sparkling new SSN, I applied to every dealership that had a position available. With an extensive background in customer service and experience as a Range Rover Service Advisor, I was confident I would secure a job in no time.

Imagine my surprise when I didn’t get one call in four months. Clearly, the universe was trying to signal something, but I was oblivious.

One day, as I sat at the playground

{—much like I'm doing today—struggling to set up a personal hotspot with MTS and watching my youngest.}

Darianna and Damo, having the time of their lives, I realized that I couldn't miss another “being a mama moment”, having already missed so much of their lives. The daily daycare drop-offs were heart-wrenching for me, even though my children seemed perfectly fine with it. Thus, I pulled out my phone and started typing a wish list in my notes, entertaining what my ideal work would like.

I still have that note, my cloud storage is massive; I’m a digital hoarder.

Here's a screenshot.

don’t mind Russian РАБОТА means Job

Take note of the date: October 12, 2015.

{confession#1}

I've been in the online industry since 2015, but I often say a decade because I tend to round up {I’ve been saying I’m 40 for like three years now}, and sometimes it's just simpler to say than eight or nine years.

I genuinely don't believe that an extra 18 months add any more credibility to my expertise or understanding of the industry. In my opinion, staying up-to-date and exploring options daily enhances your offerings' value.

Moving on.

Now, Take a look at this screenshot of the interview invite I received after applying to various admin and personal assistant jobs on Craigslist.

The interview was scheduled for October 20, just eight days after I penned down my wish list.

Crazy, eh? Although this may seem unbelievable, it's nothing but the truth. and Yes, I worked for Hilary Rushford, but most likely if you are not in the industry of fashion and style and Instagram, you have no idea who that is :)

This job was initially introduced as a personal assistant role to the CEO of the company. It was 90% remote, a concept I hadn't fully considered at the time. I'd mentioned "30% remote" on my wish list primarily because I wasn't sure of its feasibility and was pushing my wish boundaries.

THAT 👆️ taught me a valuable lesson: always create a wish list before setting out to achieve something. In my case, it has proven successful every time.

Therefore, before you explore #remotejobs I'm about to share, I urge you to make a list of what you're seeking. Don't be afraid to push your limits and pen down all your desires. You never know, they might just come true.

Now, when reviewing qualifications and requirements, I typically gloss over 90% of the job listing and look for two things:
- whether they need me to come into the office at some point or if there's a set shift requiring my presence in a specific timezone,

- and if there's a specific system platform they want me to use that I'm not already familiar with.

Thats It!

I don't worry about qualifications such as education, work experience, and skills. These are things I can learn, acquire, or provide.

disclaimer

  1. All jobs are current from Various Job boards

  2. All jobs I post are remote unless I missed it in the description that it isn’t.

  3. All jobs are in USD

  4. I’m not affiliated with anyone or anything :)). I wish!

Chat Support Executive. click on the title to get to the job posting

You’ll find Responsibilities, Qualifications, and the rest of the Job description once you click on the title. The way I look at this position, you don’t need any prior experience, nor do you need any special education. Chat platforms are easy to use, so you don’t have to worry about that too. Your resume can be adjusted, repackaged, and repurposed for this position even if you never worked virtually. I explain a step-by-step process and share online tools that you might need for your virtual career in my Free Course inside Desklesss Academy.

This is the only time I’m going to mention my Academy here since this newsletter isn’t about my business but How you can benefit from it :))). For real!

I don’t see any special education/certification requirements. I could totally apply for this. Also, I don’t look at the salary much unless I’m looking for something very specific or hiring a client.

When I read $19.50/hour, to me sounds like $25/hr in three months, if not sooner, and $35/hr by the year-end with a flexible schedule and other perks.

Basically, you’ll be a very busy social butterfly for Adobe. Lots of engagements with the community. And there is a travel requirement.

  • Work with the Customer Success team to ensure top customer satisfaction by resolving issues and finding quick, viable solutions through our main communication channels (calls, emails, and chats).

It does mention that the Applicant should be local to the Remote Position, U.S.A. area, as we will not relocate. But honestly, it really doesn’t matter.

$60,000/yr - $70,000/yr · Full-time

The only thing that would make me think is the part inside the Marketing and Sales Support:

  • Comfortable working in with marketing tools (Adobe InDesign and Photoshop) - I’m not that comfortable. But I can learn, and this would not stop me.

Ok, I’m still trying to make it for this Tuesday, so one more, and thats it!

$5,300/month - $6,900/month · Part-time

About the job

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive personal assistant who will provide comprehensive support to executives and improve their performance in our financial company. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently while maintaining effective remote collaboration.

Online Tools.

Now, let's jump into an online tool that I personally can't function without.

Yes, you guessed it right - the first one on my list is #LastPass. At this rate, considering how much I rave about it, I believe they should start paying me!

LastPass is a lifesaver, streamlining your digital life in a simple and secure manner. It ensures that all your passwords are safe and readily accessible across all your devices.

Our lives are increasingly unfolding online - work, leisure, and interactions with family and friends. LastPass caters to this shift, making your digital life manageable and secure. I have two kids over 11, and they both have passwords and other info such as SSN numbers that need remembering. We share passwords with each other, have a Family Vault, and its so easy to use with the autofill option.

There you have it! I've done it, even though I didn't think I'd write until next Tuesday since you already got one today. But remote jobs make it hard to delay; I want to share current jobs, relevant to today, not;

“Hey, look at the job listings I found a week ago!”

Remember, I'm always just a click away. Don't hesitate to reach out! You can message me on social media or email me at [email protected] with your comments, suggestions, and queries.

I promise to answer them all.

Have a great Tuesday!

Kat
